You are right , bad exposure is bad exposure but not everyone is part of a gang. There's tons of crazy people (Crackheads, non affiliated people) that do crazy shit.

Can't debate on what you said, 81, Crips, Bloods, Mobs... They all have something in common it's to do business uninterrupted without the spotlight on. 100% right.

true, cops do have a much higher risk exposure to mentally ill people in poor neighborhoods. but also generally dont fear for their life. 99% of calls relating to homeless or crazy people are a bother rather than a danger.

its just that the "i feared for me life" excuse for cops shooting people that are unarmed is rather silly. as is the "tazers are unreliable" excuse. when someone resists a tazer its very noteworthy generally.

Can't debate that. Too much people being killed by cops. Just that, people show both extreme when i believe we could easily live right in the middle.

I'd say , force cops to wear body cam 24/7. Make sure there's enough screening before they get the job to be sure you get the right people for the job.

take away qualified immunity, force cops to hold personal insurance, and the rates cops who kill unarmed people have to pay to stay employed will take them out of the field, just like careless doctors.

a doctor who mostly hands out advice to take OTC cough medicine needs insurance, but a cop who carries weapons needs none. thats silly. and just police union propaganda driven at taxpayer expense, just like the union itself.

people still dont understand that society is the problem and not the cops

they are merely the mirrors of a violent and deranged society

Qualified immunity has only existed since 1967. Had plenty of cops before then, and if we got rid of it tomorrow we would still have cops.

Cops are the enforcement mechanism for society. I agree that society is the problem, not cops. Cops are a product of the system being crap, and are just carrying out the crap they are ordered to carry out. However, part of that problem is that the system makes cops all but immune to major violations of civil rights violations unless there was a virtually identical case, and you can't create a case without a similar case being already on the books. The system that has a problem is partially that the system gives them qualified immunity. Change the system, change the cops.

i would agree with this except that you had nowhere near the current problems in 1967

i am the first to say that the states have a training and recruitment problem and also giving officers too much leeway

but they still need a protected status

I tend to agree they need some level of protection, but qualified immunity is fucking bonkers. Cops have literally gotten away with flat out theft while searching a home and couldn't be held personally responsible because of qualified immunity.

If you don't like judicial activism, then you shouldn't support qualified immunity in any form since it was a total fabrication by the supreme court.
