Is it not a fact that the Israeli government has drawn up plans to get rid of Palestinians from the river to the sea ? Is it not double standards to condemn Hamas (who cannot achieve this goal) and not the Israeli Government, who can achieve this goal, and are expediting this goall ?
happy to debate the point, but if challenging, please make reference to the Israeli plans, which have been documented and proven factual.
I don't disagree the plans have been made and I don't have a problem with the chant but I will strong man their position a bit. It seems many people who have a problem with the chant view it as a call to genocide/ethnic cleansing which there is a case for (i don't agree with it)
The condemnation in this situation is directed at the people they view as calling for genocide/ethnic cleansing which even if it isn't possible obviously wouldn't be something most people would want chanted on their streets.
The problem IMO is that there have clearly been different inteprations and the words themselves are completely non violent and open to interpretation so one can't say "it clearly means X"
That said it seems more likely to me that the average college student chanting this in a protest is calling for an end to Palestinian oppression rather than "killing the jews"
