It was rigged against him in 2016, yes. But this doesnt mean that he would have won, let alone won convincingly, without that. Chances are that it would have been a tossup between him and Hillary without the manipulation, rather than the Bernie landslide his supporters fantasize about.
In 2020, there was no rigging against Bernie, and he still got squashed. And that's in spite of his 2020 campaign operating under the very assumption which also underlies fender's claim: that there is this huge pool of non-voters who are overwhelmingly leaning toward progressive policies and only need to be activated. Bernie's 2020 campaign went all-in on this "silent progressive majority" hypothesis and got clobbered.
