Most figures I’ve seen seem to be in the $15 - $30 per dose, depending on country and company the vaccine came from...

there were studies a month or two ago comparing all of the major brands.

google has since scrubbed them all from the internet showing the original prices before subsidies.

i wonder why?

Pre subsidy price. Jesus christ, its an mRNA vaccine that requires a lab to produce. Its not gunna be fucking 15$ to make.

Yeah, governments subsidised pharmaceutical companies to research and produce the vaccines, and I can certainly understand being against that. However, at this point, that is already lost money, and refusing to purchase doses isn’t going to get it back. So from the current standpoint, bringing in new vaccines is only in the $15-30/dose range..

Edit: I also think the US did little to fund the Pfizer mRNA vaccine and it was largely funded by the EU..

Literally everything out of a pharma company "requires a lab to produce". There are half a dozen major pharma manufacturers in my town and they all have laboratory campuses here that they hire scientists for.

Nice that you're adding a lie about google scrubbing results on top of your lie about vaccination prices.

The U.S. incentivized development with a large pre-order, but didn't fund the actual vaccine development from Pfizer.

That is the price the patient pays after insurance and subsidy, not before subsidy. Keep in mind the companies have a monopoly and can charge the government whatever they want.

An EU official accidentally (or ""accidentally"") allowed the public to see the prices they agreed upon with the various pharma companies:

This is the list of what the EU is paying:

Oxford/AstraZeneca: €1.78 (£1.61).

Johnson & Johnson: $8.50 (£6.30).

Sanofi/GSK: €7.56.

Pfizer/BioNTech: €12.

CureVac: €10.

Moderna: $18.

Just today, reports came out that Israel paid around $44 per dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. I have no fucking idea where you got your figure of $30 000 from... perhaps you heard the figure "$30" somewhere and a brainfart added three additional zeroes...
