a quick reminder:

I didn't make this up:
You "quoted" balrog who was replying to me. This post was directed at me, in your passive aggressive cowardly modus operandi.
you need help. even if you initially thought me paraphrasing a typical right wing position was directed at you specifically, one would assume that my response, telling you directly that i wasn't even talking to or about you in particular, should have been enough to dispel that delusion. apparently it wasn't...
anyway, my point here is that the half dozen right wing idiots, who clutched their pearls and strawmanned the meme i posted, don't have to necessarily deny the facts or even support america's insanely flawed criminal justice and prison system, to justify my conclusion that they couldn't deal with the criticism. that's just a basic logic fail on your part.

I don't deny the exploitative nature of capitalism as it's quite amoral but the authoritarian nature of communism is kind of written into it's goals. Why on earth would anyone who's a productive member of society want to live in a world like this?
1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
5. Centralisation of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
6. Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8. Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, &c, &c.
it's interesting how eager you are to address and discuss the pivot, while completely ignoring the original target of the meme i posted, the heavily flawed american criminal justice and prison system. that in itself is really telling.
that said, if you really really want to, i'll be willing to entertain you. we can try (tomorrow) to have a good faith debate about the benefits and drawbacks of communism and capitalism in a separate thread, which you could start by trying to frame your concerns and assumptions in a remotely fair and objective way, that's not based on a whole lot of loaded premises and a blatantly biased central question, lol.
while i'm not a communist myself (just to clarify, since your recent posts don't make me particularly confident that you understand how pointing out that
discussing its advantages and glorifying everything that ever happened under its name is not the same, doesn't mean that i fully subscribe to the ideology), i'm somewhat familiar with many of their criticisms of capitalism, and will happily go through the pros and cons with you, if you're willing and able to keep a somewhat open mind.
your doubling and tripling down on the ridiculous notion that a meme highlighting the insanity of america's CURRENT criminal justice system, was somehow an attempt to downplay stalin's HISTORIC crimes, suggests otherwise, but maybe you can surprise me. acknowledging the fact that it doesn't, (in fact, i can't recall a SINGLE time even the most radical leftists on pard, one of which i am regularly accused of being btw, made excuses or even supportive statements regarding gulags, forced labour, political imprisonment, and genocide), and that it's a transparent deflection attempt by people who can't deal with the criticism, would be a start for example...
