"Exclusive access" Should not be legal, but even if they deliver video at the same time to CNN the 44k hours could have been secretely reviewed during 8 weeks, so FUX news would be able to deliver lying-propaganda immediately.

Releasing the full records to a neutral 3rd party, or to the entire public, is what should have happened from the get go. Instead, the highly partisan Jan 6 committee sat on the records for 18 months to control and shape the narrative to their liking. After 18 months of pro-Democrat groups having exclusive access and publishing a misleading narrative which omits the full picture, it is only fair for a right-leaning group to get a headstart on the release of the full records. Iirc, McCarthy has already said that the records will be made available to the whole public very soon.
