Israel is not seeking to resolve the underlying issue in this moment. Neither are Hamas, and they never have neen.
Israel's war aims are to remove Hamas as a threat to its people and to free the 240 some hostages.
it is you who fails to see how those issued are directly intertwined and can not be resolved independently. as long as there is an occupation, there will be a resistance, and it's absurd to expect anything else.
the side that has all the power in this conflict is determined not to resolve this underlying issue, so acting like they could somehow just remove the resistance by inflicting even more suffering on predominantly innocent and not (yet) radicalised people, is ridiculous.
as if 70+ years of this haven't been proof enough. i refuse to believe that people are genuinely dumb enough not to realise that. it's self-deception to justify the starving and bombing of children, to justify the vastly disproportionate response to a terrible act of terrorism.
