explain this. apparently for local government officials, they didnt need federal troops for a mostly peaceful protest (using the swamp and media’s terminology here) but now we need an army in DC larger than all the troops we have deployed two Iraq and Afghanistan combined for a virtual event????

the storming was stupid and ended up being pointless. now peacefully standing outside the capitol and singing/praying/etc. and voicing disapproval would have been a far more effective display

That's rich coming from someone who spent the summer railing against the minority of BLM protestors who were violent, when the majority were peaceful self-guided tours of the streets of cities across America.

The contention has never been that they aren't "mostly peaceful", the contention has been that the small percent that were violent should be given significant moral weight relative to the majority peaceful.

ive not condoned either set of events (riots from 2017-present or the recent attempt to occupy the capitol). most say one or the other is fine, and the other one is grounds for execution or something extreme like that.

either they are all mostly peaceful protests or all condemnable events. for me its the latter
