Trump is hardly to blame for that. He’s merely the result of a great divide between parties. How’d he win the 2016 election in the first place? Use your brain for once. You can’t pin all the blames onto one man.

You would have to be legitimately brain dead to not see the thick sharpie red connection between someone with some of the highest outreach levels on the planet yelling and crying for two months straight that your democracy is being stolen from you, and then specifically that person's supporters trying to overthrow democracy.

The reasons people were attracted to a populist like trump and the reason people stormed the capitol are not the same reasons.

There were legitimate reasons, hundreds even, for people to seek populism, especially right wingers.

Mass misinformation, and false threats about what's at stake are what lead to Wednesday though. Not legitimate greivances. Spearheaded for two months straight by the boy in charge. Amplified by conversative talking heads and elected officials. Amplified by social media bubbles. Etc.
