Battles =/= wars. Like Vietnam, the US won all the battles, and lost the war when they decided to quit. We didn't lose of the field of battle. Canada is no more capable of beating the US on the field of battle than Iraq was.

The US has no need to challenge China on their own turf, so why would they build up that? China has no capability to challenge the US anywhere else.

If the US has no need to challenge China then why is it challenging China? Every single ship sent through the Chinese controlled waters is a challenge. It's only a matter of time before China sinks such a vessel. And then what? Nothing, because China is beyond the US's control. They don't need to conquer the US militarily, they'll conquer it economically.

You don't seem to understand how these things work.

China isn't just gonna sink a U.S. ship at some random point because it's in their waters. If that was the case they would destroy the ships we send to defend Taiwan.

Also intentionally sinking an American vessel is a blatant act of war and would se met with serious sanctions at minimum and probably escalation.

China is not in our control, but they're far from independent enough from the world to be able to challenge all of NATO militarily or economically. They are still massively dependent on all of the west to buy their shit. That's why they are sticking to economic manipulation instead of military action.

No you don't understand how things work. China most certainly will sink a US ship one day, and the only US response will be to go home. With every day that goes by China becomes stronger and more capable of defending it's claimed territory. Invasions of territory are a declaration of war, so China would only be responding in kind. The US remains arrogant and intent on forcing things it has 0 capability to enforce. It is only a matter of time before China has had enough.

China is putting it's fingers in as many pies as possible, making friends with dozens of nations that have been ignored and trampled on by the West for decades or centuries. You'll be in for a shock when more of the world sides with them than the US the day it happens.

China has no capacity to operate without western trading partners. The day you describe is minimum 50 years away.
