Then maybe we can add covid beliefs to the list of the explicitly banned. You believe that not being vaccinated will endanger you and your employees, whereas I don't. You cannot refuse to serve me just because I believe in different things than you do. This kind of brings us back to my original point, where I mentioned "political beliefs". Maybe "political beliefs" isn't accurate, but what we are talking about is definitely a belief of some sort. And if you ask an average person, they will tell you that you as a business owner should not be allowed to discriminate against patrons just because they believe in different things than you do.

This is some kind of socialist bullshit. I can refuse to serve you for any reason that isn't explicitly protected. Being a dumbass who rejects modern medicine and evidence will never be a protected class.

do you believe that business owners should not have rights?

sounds an awful lot like you're trying to coerce business owners into allowing patrons they do not want to allow

pretty sure some gay cakes would have an opinion on that.

Something being conditional does not mean it is coerced. If I say "you can't come in my house unless you take off your shoes" that is not coercion.

Not really. When a dictator says to his subjects, "you cannot live unless you do what I say", it is coercion.

Anyway, we are getting sidetracked. My point is that businesses cannot demand to see a patron's vaccine card before letting him in. That's a breach of his privacy.

If you don't want to get vaccinated you can use a myriad of pickup options and delivery options.

And if they don't provide pickup/delivery options?

True, and that is why I am advocating adding covid beliefs to the list of the explicitly protected.

Why should businesses demand to know a patron's vaccination status? Give me a good reason.

You need to convince me why just because someone supposedly "rejects" modern science, it means you can deny him service. In other words, why should you be able to cite what someone believes in, or in our case, what he fails to believe in, as a reason for refusing him service?

I am actually empathetic of JessiWan suspicions because the government is pushing this thing quite hard and showing lack of consistency, too busy playing politics.

Businesses should have the right to refuse entry to somebody that they judge dangerous. However, with vaccines widely available (and effective) I would argue that unvaccinated are not dangerous to vaccinated people. They put themselves at risk, but that is their own business.

I am not sure if private businesses have the right to refuse service to someone...but I think they do. Again, if a dumbass business refuses you service go to the other business (not everyone is authoritarian). Problem solved.

The sad part is that so many business owners and people in general simply do not understand that vaccinated people are still carriers. They totally fail to realize this HUGE fact.

You have it backwards. Being able to deny somebody for a specific reason is inherently reserved to the citizens. We live in a society where it isn't on me to prove I can do something, it's on you to prove I can't.
