German beer still wins more prices, American beer have become beyond acceptable in the past 2 decades.

US ranks 21th place in drinking a lot of beer, Germany is 4th place in the world.

For now I'd say Germany is beer king. But other countries are getting close, especially during this crisis.. That's why this is a thing in the topic.. isn't it ? Or is this part of a trade war we shouldn't have?

i have some friends that absolutely LOVE a certain belgian brand (with weird, non beer related flavours like cherry though). i totally get how that might be attractive to people who usually don't like beer, grew up with that stuff, or simply don't have the vast variety of traditional beers that we have here, and that's totally ok obviously.

all i'm saying is that just because some hipsters made a list of their favourite craft beers and fruit punches, that wouldn't even be called 'beers' here in germany, that hardly means american beers are superior now. i'm sure you can find somewhat decent beers basically everywhere in the world, but that doesn't change the fact that what most americans consume is bland and stale pisswater, lol.

Apart from #prize winners a preference is subjective and can be driven culturally through historical legislation like the Reinheitsgebot. It's alright if opinions differ on the matter. US beer has been on the rise for quite some time though, winning more prizes every year. I don't mind buying the better ones
