To be more precise: lefties like Bernie have been sincerely calling out the NIMBY stuff and its impact on marginalized communities for a long time, while "corporate Democrats" like Biden/Obama/Pelosi are promoting these exact policies all the time.
On a more general note, I believe that the tension between the economic interests of downscale minorities and those of the upscale suburban white professionals is the most important fault line in the Democratic party. The Dem coalition is held together by a shared interest in social liberalism, but when it comes to economic policy/taxes and such, their coalition doesnt make a lot of sense.
Corporate Democrat != NIMBY even though I 100% agree that Pelosi is in the NIMBY group. Frankly, it goes beyond political ideology and it just comes down to practicing what you preach. That's a personality flaw more than anything.
I don't think any of the coalitions make sense much anymore outside of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
