NIM·By

Learn to pronounce
nounINFORMAL
a person who objects to the siting of something perceived as unpleasant or hazardous in the area where they live, especially while raising no such objections to similar developments elsewhere.

The point here is you're a hypocrite.

Its based in wealth. We have a cross county highway that crosses the county through the poor neighborhoods that got shut down when it got to the richies in the burbs lol. Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway....always forget where I'm going when I'm on it...

Well and truly.
I think wind turbines are great but I don't want one on my land.

And this is why we don't take liberals seriously on policy. Rules are good enough for thee, but not me me approach to governing. Thanks for being honest about it at least.

To be more precise: lefties like Bernie have been sincerely calling out the NIMBY stuff and its impact on marginalized communities for a long time, while "corporate Democrats" like Biden/Obama/Pelosi are promoting these exact policies all the time.

On a more general note, I believe that the tension between the economic interests of downscale minorities and those of the upscale suburban white professionals is the most important fault line in the Democratic party. The Dem coalition is held together by a shared interest in social liberalism, but when it comes to economic policy/taxes and such, their coalition doesnt make a lot of sense.

most lefties/liberals/democrats are nimbys at their core.

Barnie has a $600k summer home that he randomly got in the summer of 2016. wonder how that happened. small peanuts compared to the rest of the swamp demons, but as tcock said so eloquently “he is the least successful Jewish person”. tbf Barnie is arguably the most genuine lifelong politician on this front of advocating for legitimate changes, and his net worth really is reasonable for his age and position (its like $2M net worth), but incredibly inefficient at it. he just barks the loudest
