Meh. NYC is one of the most expensive places to live in the US. The real scandal is Democrats are generally the reason why, but here's this fucking dumbass grandstanding on the heap of her own failures, and people lap this stupid shit up.

Aoc is actively trying to fix the issues, she is not some rank and file dnc shill.
Nyc is expensive because it is one of the largest first world cities on earth, that has nothing to do with republican or democrat, sydney is expensive and so is melbourne, one is red one is blue here in aus.

She fucking deserved it man. She's been fucking every man in town and gave "America" multiple STDs. In addition, she's been sexually and physically abusing the children.

You mean fix things that make the problem worse for everyone? Like abolishing rent control?

She made the Dems embrace Nuclear energy as a "green alternative"

Ill drink to that

Its a complex issue, rent control will never work on its own, and removing rent control will not fix the issue, what needs to happen is red tape needs to be removed for new builds and a LOT more housing needs to be built.

It actually is, and as the technology improves it only looks better, the real issue with nuclear is currently it costs 15 billion dollars and takes 10 years to build one plant and renewables are advancing at such a rate that it may be redundant by the time it is built.

The real issue with nuclear energy is the lack of scalability. At the current rate, global uranium supplies suffice to fuel the world's current nuclear power plants for around 200 years. If we increased the number of nuclear power plants tenfold, this would accordingly shrink the supplies to just 20 years, i.e. not worth the investment. Hence, even if the world ignored the issues with radioactive waste, cooling, huge upfront costs and gigantic operational risks, nuclear power would still not be able to solve the world's carbon problem. Nuclear power simply cannot be scaled to the point where it's a feasible replacement for fossils.

Modern nuclear power plants which are already constructed and still meet the safety standards should of course be kept running and not be shut down prematurely. Nuclear is an important bridge technology with very low emissions. Giving in to anti-nuclear sentiment means shooting ourselves in the foot.

Thorium reactors are the future of nuclear energy, at least on paper. Lots of research going on as we speak

I.e. it will take another 20-30 years before this type of reactor is ready for the mass market. Perhaps a long-term solution, but nothing we can count on and nothing that solves our short-term problem.

It will take a while but I wanted to point out that fuel shortage does not have to be the limiting factor of large scale nuclear energy as thorium is abundant
