as much as a like to see that clown fail, this is a shit outcome imo. just means another delay with 'negotiations' that end nowhere because the brits just don't understand the limits of what is negotiable.

no-deal brexit now, get this shit over with. sure it'll hurt us too, but like i said from the very beginning: i'd rather have a clean break than all those pointless and neverending negotiations. that insecurity isn't good for the markets either...

we'd be negotiating with a non-member on the basis of wto rules, which already IS regulated, and would still grant access to the european market - just not unrestricted. of course it'd be possible to negotiate a trade deal after that, but it'd be a clean break both politically as well as economically, with a regulated path forward - as opposed to the current insecurity and negotiations based on entirely conflicting expectations and promises of what a deal could look like.

The Earth must have shifted off it's axis... I agree with Fender. :)

you're coming from a completely different angle though: you hilariously think the UK would be better off without the EU, that brexit will benefit them somehow - and whenever i point out how ridiculous and ignorant that assumption is, you resort to your little "it can't be stupid, it's just my opinion" excuse...

What negotiating position? The EU have been waiting for new proposals from Boris' negotiating team for 3 weeks and have had nothing. There is no plan to solve the backstop issue because the solution simply doesn't exist with current technology.

Maybe I would have wanted no deal on the table if Boris had advanced negotiations instead of proroguing parliament and actively pursuing a no deal brexit.

The no deal Brexit is a chicken game with the EU, in them giving just a bit more than the Cheqeurs deal instead of having a hard Brexit..

Having that off the table the UK wont have a chance at getting more.

/e: I'm not pro Boris obviously. On this issue, politicians cannot say what their motivations are, to be able to have a chance in negotiations. I Don't know Boris his motivation, just looking at opportunities for negotiation leverage of having a hard Brexit.

That's why I support a new election in which the candidates' stance on a no deal brexit would be a central issue. If there is a clear majority for Remain or a no deal Brexit, then so be it and we can finally end this shitshow.

Infographic has a good amount of misdirection too, completely ignoring all non-Labour/Tory MP's. SNP/LibDem/DUP/Sinn Fein all together have 10% or parliament.

And I'm fairly convinced that a new Scottish independence movement is guaranteed if a no-deal happens. And I ain't even touching the wasp's nest that is the Northern Irish border and the backstop issues.

The UK needs to bite the bullet at some point. I hope for their own sake they'll remain, but people like BoJo and his ilk have a lot to gain out of crises like this.

The cleanest Brexit solution would probably be to just "sacrifice" the unionists in Northern Ireland and move the customs border to the Irish Sea.

I agree that's the easiest customs wise, but there are some decent odds of new Troubles arising if that happens...
