Telling me how big and scary he is. Tell me how much of a threat he was.
Tell me why not one of the red hats had the integrity and respect for life to shake his hand or clear a path for him
clear a path for him? He walked up to them and into their group and then stopped to confront them. He wasn't walking past them. Should they have gone elsewhere? And what will they do when he follows them?
He choose to confront the high schoolers. It was his conscious decision to engage in a provocative act and counter-protest their rally. His actions were unmistakable to those at the rally and they responded in kind.
Does putting on native garb and banging on a drum absolve one of the responsibility to be non-aggressive? Is peace sought through acts of conflict?
He's not some fragile noble savage tonto who took a hit from the peace pipe and was peacefully singing to his ancestors when a gang of colonizers descended on him, burnt his teepee and raped his women. He's a human being who is responsible for his own actions and their consequences, just like those kids. He sought out a confrontation and he found it. And it was a group of children he was provoking, and their only rude response was a shit eating grin and a few mocking phrases.
