natural gas has become more cost efficient over the years which has ate away at coal operated plants, but even in facilities where natural gas is used, coal is still used as a secondary source as it still is cost efficient. Emission regulations have hit power plants with the increase cost of scrubbers to decrease sulfur dioxide from exiting the stack. Which has caused power plants, such as the one in coalstrip Montana to begin shut down procedures. This is a recurrence that’s seen through out the United States as companies decide to move over seas.

Well, since you used the specific term "power plant", why don't you go ahead and redefine the term in attempt to not be incorrect about the fuel source that is the largest source of electricity generation in the United States.

The truth is coal's economic viability is over. We're transitioning off of coal whether anybody likes it or not because it's no longer the cheapest option even after the ridiculous subsidy we give it in the United States.
