I have had plenty of German beer, both within Germany and export. It was well-made and the quality was high. The variety of style, however, was lacking. That's what Germans like, however, so its hard to blame them.
"Traditional" American lagers are of roughly equivalent strength to what you find in Germany. IPAs are significantly stronger.
American craft beer is a sizeable section of the market; anyone who refers to craft beer as "fruit punch" doesn't know enough to participate in even a limited conversation on the subject. You are a living, breathing German stereotype.
Shhhh. Left him keep digging his hole.

google 'reinheitsgebot', you absolute beer ignoramus, then you know why there's no german beer amongst your hipster fruit punches, lol.
and again, you're missing the point, my slow american friend: the recent craft beer fad doesn't really change what kind of beer most americans prefer and consume. i think it's great that a few of you have started to develop a sense of taste, and appreciate drinks that don't resemble something that already went through your digestive system once - but that still doesn't make it representative of american beer, sorry.
that's like 2007 me claiming that german basketball has eclipsed american basketball, because of dirk nowitzki, or 2020 me claiming that german ice hockey (had to do it, to piss off our resident canadians) is the best in the world because of leon draisaitl, lol...
I am still not anything close to your friend. You're still conflating consumption choices based on price with quality comparisons. Try to keep up.
