My point is that everyone has been on the wrong side of toxic, divisive rhetoric. I don't think the lefties WANT to unify with the people they call racist, Hitler, etc. I also don't think the right want to side with a bunch of socialists. However, it's everyone's patriotic duty to do so. Something like COVID should have united this country and the fact that it didn't means we are incredibly vulnerable as a population.

most of the country is not 'hitler' or socialist. i have i lived in a major city and i lived in a rural area, its pretty clear if you just open your eyes and talk to people that most are just normal and have common disagreements that do not involve socialism and 'hitler'. sadly the loudmouths on tiktok or whatever get the most attention.

we need events to unify yes. i do agree that covid should have been the rallying cry to unify and we did not do well. trump shares his blame for that. i've been fairly consistent in saying that he bungled the initial response and instead of just reversing course and taking the stupidly easy way out ('i will let fauci and birx handle this, i will focus on stimulus and congress needs to write a check to the people, oh and by the way buy my 'Trump 2020' and 'USA" masks on my campaign site) he kept at it. but that is old news now

unfortunately the last two times we 'unified' before this we got the never-ending wars in iraq and afghanistan and then we got the free universal affordable healthcare acts. awful track record of recent time
