God takes no pleasure in suffering, but it seems that in order to show man the consequences of sin, so that we can have peace in the eternal age, He must allow the consequences of sin come to fruition in most cases. Only those in Christ will escape eternal pain and suffering of hell as the result of our sins. None of us deserve anything good because we are criminals in God's eyes, but God loved us and sent His only Son to save us from our sins.
