pushing the fringes from political engagement is the only way unification of possible. when alt right hacks and far left wierdos are involved unification cannot be done on literally any issue. only by making politics slow as molasses but moving in a blandly progressive direction can the 75% of the US that can be unified see an end to hyperpartisan politics.

you know that isnt going to happen because the GOP is already trying to pull the extreme fringe into their runs for 2024

no, i dont know that isn't going to happen. Mitch has been in politics a LONG time, and that predates the 2016 rise of the Trumpian wing of the GOP. he also knows that no matter what he does he'll get 1 in 10 jibes from Trump's twitter compared to Joe/Kamala. and even when trump was in office he was often a target. might as well get his name on a few bills while grandstanding as opposition on matters neither him or Joe care about. Joe can try to handle those via EO and either fail/succeed in his name or get struck down by SCOTUS, either way Mitch wins. 2022 Mitch will pick up seats as the GOP machine fear mongers about socialism and they could even grab the house. playing ball on budgets, covid stimulus, military spending, and infrastructure spending only helps Mitch, and its what the country needs.

for sure, unfortunately the fringe has expanded significantly for each end

mainstream media and quite a few lefty politicians adopted rhetoric that trump’s supporters are all “nazis” and “facists”, all controlled by ‘russia’. heck mainstream media personalities are demanding punishment of trump and all his supporters

of course the right isnt faultless here either, definitely a lot of oddball theories floating around all over

temporary insanity fringe voters will fade back to center if Mitch/Joe shake hands and pass a stimulus bill then an infrastructure bill, and vaccine news pumping stock gains and airlines starting to creep back means almost everyone wins.

not really talking about mcconnell here, its clear mcconnell used trump as a means to an end and we all know his end game was scotus and federal judges. now he has a clear opportunity to dump trump.

on teh gop side; cruz, rubio, graham, on the senate level are likely going to tap trump's base for 2024.

on the left side you have aoc types who want to believe that the extreme left is why they won.

america needs more than 2 parties lol
