The difference being that the media is focusing on two candidates now, not eighteen. We're dealing with the American voters, not just Republican primary voters. Trump is continuing to alienate the groups he needs to win in November.

Believe me, it hasn't been just Republican primary voters that have payed attention to Trump and Republican primary. Women, Hispanics, Muslims, etc and everyone, really, have all been watching Trump very closely over the past year. The media can't get enough of him and he's in the news for some outrageous thing he has said every day.

In the context of alienating important voter blocs, it doesn't matter too much that we are transitioning from the primaries to the general. The damage is already done.

Trump's surrogates are attacking the judge because he's part of a Hispanic lawyers group. It's not just a focus on his Mexican heritage, it's a focus on his race now.



Of course it matters. If Trump left behind the divisive rhetoric and began talking about how he's going to create jobs, he would do much better with Hispanics and others in November.

It's been said that gender and national origins may and will affect judgements.
