This is such a shitty hill to die on. Biden is worse and gas prices are sky high.

Like seriously, how are you related to Santara?

Gas prices are scarcely affected by a US president. That's not to say they're above influence - like if through US policy, there is less drilling or pipeline building, but at the end of the day, oil is a worldwide commodity whose price is determined by traders and influenced by factors from the world over.

It's not my fault Branco puts out such shit-tier cartoons. Hell, if he would have even said $2/gallon gas (which is a nice round number), it would be pretty much a rounding error. But $1.75 under Trump (which is the implication, considering Trump is pictured in the cartoon in question) only happened under the strictest lockdowns nationwide, so the idea that 1.75 and booming economy under Trump were not mutually-exclusive is dumb.

Don't know how many times this has to be repeated.

Has Biden ever negotiated with the Saudis to increase supply while building pipelines to further increase domestic supply - to decrease the price based on the simple 101 Macroeconomics concept of supply and demand?

It's a stupid cartoon but you already knew that. It's no different than Biden bragging about historically low unemployment, massive GDP growth, etc.
1. It's not because of his policies
2. We also have inflation to contend with

When it comes to the economy, it's best to just roll your eyes and move on when someone tries to take credit for it. Are you going to give Bill Clinton credit for a "good economy?"

that may have been true up until 2021 though.
biden himself said he can control gas prices https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/23/energy/joe-biden-gas-prices/index.html

e: it is indeed a world-wide commodity - which under Trump we managed to become the producer exporter of. and a net exporter. everyone here can make of that what they will

I never got the chance to enjoy that. The lowest gas got here was like $2.50. It's roughly $5.70/gal for premium here right now.

Yea, it depends on the state too. Our place has a state tax, so the lowest was ~2.11.
