I doubt the blueblood commie hippies in Austin will last long in red Texas, as red rural Californians would similarly suffer. If you think the cities can just function independently from the great majority of the land area of the USA, assuming there is some war or embargo, that's some wishful thinking.

In my experience working in healthcare right wingers tend to be the most in need of help and the least willing to seek it, and least willing to comply when they get it.

They tend to shoot themselves in the foot and act like they're fine when they can't walk 5 feet from severe lung disorders from smoking 3 packs a day.
