Nobody ran out of money. Britain doesn't "fund" the EU, they invest in it and get benefits in form of easier international trade and returned money.

This Brexit was decided by the population who apparently doesn't think the benefits are worth the cost. It wasn't decided by politicians who thought the current situation wasn't sustainable for whatever reason.

The guy who posted that tweet is Guy Verhofstadt, one of Belgium's former prime ministers. He's a great politician, and I'm sure he has some misused statistics to back up that point.

The UK will lose a shit-ton of money over this, but to already say it's 350B is quite silly.

See, this is what baffles me most about the whole situation. The fact that Cameron isn't being fucking lynched yet.

With a referendum like this, you know short-term greed and nationalism will win. Those are simply two ideologies that are easily incited through sheer populism. So, knowing that this referendum would go badly, Cameron promised it just because he wanted to get re-elected.
