They are being dealt with by the authorities but they should not be overly punished because of social agenda's .

I'd say 'infllicting unnecessary and excessive violence on a fellow citizen' is enough reason for a fair amount punishment/angermanagment, regardless of "social agenda's".

...which is why we have different categories for crimes like this from misdemeanor assault to aggravated battery . The prosecutors will decide what level of crime is appropriate for the offense and the 2 girls will be tried in a court of law .

If the girls were motivated by the fact that the woman they beat was transgendered and that motivation can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, they definitely deserve a longer sentence. Transgendered people are among the most targeted members of society, and iirc, the chance of a transgendered woman's life ending in homicide is somewhere around 50%. It's fucking ridiculous, and every measure that can be taken to ensure their safety should be taken. It's wrong for any segment of society to be in that much danger just living their fucking lives.

Ah, apparently (according to a site that has its fair share of bias, admittedly, but this math looks legit) it's "Only" about 1/12, roughly 10x the chances for the average member of the population. So, y'know, still pretty exceptionally shitty but not quite as dramatically shitty as I remembered.

There is a way to help it, which is society giving them more tolerance, allowing for them to make their own decision about what their gender is, and advocating for them when needed.
