It was indeed a “hoax” in the sense that the original mandate, according to the authorizing document, was [1] “allegations of links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump campaign,” but we’re also mandated with [2] “any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation."
Your argument is it’s not a hoax because although they literally didn’t find shit to do with the original mandate, [1] they uncovered some other random crimes along the way [2]
The problem with that is we now know that they already knew the original mandate [1] wasn’t true, but went forward with the investigation anyway, in an attempt to distract from Clinton’s private email server scandal in 2016.
