The interesting thing about this is that this group is exempt from mandatory IDF service , despite having a growing population and the majority on the younger side of the spectrum. This has reportedly been a point of contention among secular Israeli

Israeli politics are actually really interesting

It makes sense to me that the Haredim (real life Horadrim, the keepers of wisdom) would be except since they're the ones putting in the most legwork into keeping the Jewish faith alive. In contrast the secular Hilonim should be the priority for IDF service since they serve the Jewish faith the least

You can make an argument both ways. Yours is valid

The counter argument is this growing majority that do not participate in math /science/secular activities in primary education going on to leadership positions in the country - that this would be frowned upon if you were let’s say an atheist Tel Aviv Israeli

I’m not judging. I don’t live there nor am I Jewish. But it’s interesting and is an area of contention given they will have the majority of the country’s younger males

Maybe deckard cains can respec to paladins

Not that interesting imho, and very worrying:

Ultranationalists are the winners because seems like half or more of religious israelis are zionists & neo-zionists, especially the young ones...

I mean I’m not really sure what you’re going on about. You don’t need to go to a Syrian news source this particular story was covered on npr, cnn, Atlantic , fox , and others (per a 30second good search)

And generally speaking Obama has been widely criticized in his overuse of drone strikes

So then why criticize Israel for doing the same thing Obama and the (US Military) did across 7 countries?

Only Palestinian lives matter now?

Trying to see the logic behind the outcry about Netanyahu's action? The US militaries handling of "terrorist" created 10x the amount of jihadis as they killed BECAUSE they killed innocent men, woman, children in the process.

How do you get back at a group for mercilessly killing your own citizens on your own soil. Bingo! Go mercilessly kill them and murder their loved ones on their own soil. Karma is reciprocated and often with tragic results.

Is it terribly sad what Israel HAS TO DO because of what HAMAS DID! Cause and effect.

Can you imagine the Palestinians whose family supported Hamas up until Israel was carpet bombing them.

Imagine you put up with or succumb to a gang running your neighborhood and then you get normalized to them being around you so you figure it's not a big deal. Then they go pull 10/7 and now you have tanks rolling into your country. Did they have a choice? No. Hamas was going to do what they did and everyone around them was going to pay the consequences. Innocent men, woman, and children included.

I’m Not sure why you’re linking me in this false equivalency. I merely pointed out a fallacy in your own post ie the world looked the other way while the Obama admin killed more civilians than any other administration. The entire world has, correctly, pointed this out - and you don’t need to refer to Syrian sources for that as you eluded

I have been fairly constant in my criticism. Did I say somewhere Israel shouldn’t remove Hamas from the face of the planet?
