What an ignoramus. People realize massive forest fires have raged here since before the west even set up shop right? The idea that if they just passed the GND there would no longer be forest fires, let alone preventing these ones. Is beyond asinine

He didn't claim anything you just said. If he's such an ignoramus you wouldn't need to straw man him in such an obvious way.

The point is that the GND is "expensive" but doing nothing to fix the problem is even more expensive as these events will and are becoming more common.

I'd repost the tweet but it's right there.

His suggestion that the Green New Deal would have cost less than the forest fires is obvious :P

Not just this forest fire, but the increasing instance of natural disasters that will accompany global warming. Notice how he listed three things.

He used forest fires as an example. They aren't a good example. Proccy is right, Bernie is wrong.

You don't get to link X to Y, and then hand wave it away ("I made other points too!") when challenged.

Except the claim wasn't "this one forest fire is caused by global warming", the claim is pretty obviously "expensive things are happening more frequently", and that is supported by the science, that as things get hotter and drier forest fires will be more common.

what people often fail to realize when i make any points (Because my points are often outside of the mainstream) Is that I am practically obsessed about problems like climate change and racial issues

but if we allow ourselves to be mislead by snakey politicians and bad acting activists who use lies and spin to achieve their goals (Which are shared goals for the most part) - but to me the ends do not justify the means

It's fair for us to read into his tweet differently.

In my opinion it's the same old political trash. "If you voted for me and my policies you wouldn't be on fire right now"
