The population average in terms of looks and IQ is dragged down like crazy by droves of braindead, fugly creatures. It's not a meaningful standard. What we should do is compare her to her peers.

Compared to other wives of powerful, successful men in their 40s and 50s, Michelle's looks are indeed average at best.
Compared to other first ladies, she is a far above average public speaker, presumably based on the experience she picked up in her pre-WH career.
Compared to other politicians, operatives, sociologists, psychologists, political scientists, pundits and thought leaders, her IQ is average to below average. She's not stupid or anything like that, but she's not particularly sharp or witty either. You will almost never hear a deep or original thought from her, she always parrots the respective flavor of the month theme in dull and superficial fashion. Yes, she's good at conveying emotion through her speeches, but there's never much actual substance behind it.

It was a shitty Denesh Dsusa quote. What standard you compare her to depends on the question. There is no "should" because there is no question. The specific claim was she is average looks (which she isn't, go to fucking walmart to see the average) and below average intelligence (she is significantly above average).
