Merkel at it again. Seriously, why won't they just be open about what's going on? It's nothing to be ashamed of, and while I understand that she has the right to privacy, the German people have the right to know at least some details about the health of their leader.
I understand that this could lead to a sort of political crisis, but I'm sure that overall people would take a responsible attitude given the circumstances, and the people can't be kept in the dark, treated like they were born yesterday.
ummm... why does it even bother you so much? i know you said 'the german ppl deserve to know', but you're the only one bringing it up. she actually made some statements about it, that she's in a processing phase of the first incident, but that she's well overall, and that it's not an issue of major concern. honestly, that's good enough for me - not only because it's her last term anyway, but mainly because there are zero signs of this impacting her ability to do her job. if she started to say and do absolutely insane and stupid shit on a daily basis like certain other leaders do, i'd be concerned - but apart from those short episodes of her shaking, she seems her normal boring self.
also, despite her being at the very top of german politics for quite a long time now, there's not the kind of personal cult around her that you have with other heads of government, and an unexpected retirement would not plunge the nation and the EU into chaos. as intended by our constitution, she simply doesn't wield that kind of power - and to her credit, she never tried to consolidate more during her long chancellorship.
