The trans bathroom laws issue must be at least a decade old now. there have been a few cases to be sure, but it's not worth the hysteria, just as it's not worth writing a law. its catering to a fraction of a percent of the population while actual issues are ignored.

if it's merely a cover for sexual predators why aren't there a bevy of cases? instead of the few sparse ones we get every few years? we live in a country of 400+ million, and every day tens of thousands of trans people use the bathroom that they weren't assigned at birth. yet we get like 1-2 reports of abuse every few years. it's a minor issue.

by contrast the all ages drag shows are a bigger deal, even if they're not a major issue.

My basis for voting Republican is almost entirely based on Law/Order, taxes, foreign policy. Social issues - it's really not my business how one identifies, or who (among consenting adult humans) you're attracted to. Liberty is liberty. Be who the fuck you are.

That said, some of this behavior makes it very difficult to continue taking that stance when advocacy groups do things that appear to be deliberate provoking out of pure spite. Children should absolutely not be influenced by adults other than loving parents/guardians on matters of sexuality. Government should not have a say in it. How fucking ironic. You don't want government to interfere with marriage, identity, sexuality - fine, I completely agree. But then you want government to actively influence these things to fit your personal tastes?

Because the democrats are staying away from substantial financial policy changes that I would be against, while republicans seem to get racing to find the moral low ground on social issues. It's like republicans are trying to embarrass themselves and scare away any voter that is mentally sound.
