Universal basic income doesn't guarantee equity, at least not in the sense the term is commonly understood by contemporary left-wing politicians.

It gives everyone an even start, anywhere you can hustle your way to from there is on you.

That's "equal opportunity" in the literal sense of the word, which is decidedly different from "equity", which is nowadays understood to be synonymous with "equality of outcomes".

Equality of outcomes will always be a pipe dream because some people have far more potential than others, i think the most we can do and the least we should do is give everyone a relatively even start from nothing, obviously some people will still inherit or have stronger connections due to family links etc but you can not really fix that issue.

What the hell is wrong with you people?

Right now my country gives free money to about 15 billionaires and could use that to give free money to everybody.
