GENERIC NATIONAL HOUSE VOTE

DEMOCRATIC VOTE
46,150,031
46.4%

REPUBLICAN VOTE
51,332,616
Republicans +5.2
51.6%

Not a bad result, all things considering, and slightly above where the generic congressional ballot had Republicans placed.

Lol what? Around half the vote from California is still outstanding. In reality, the House popular vote will end up at where the polling averages had it: R+1 to R+2.

Red wave? I've had bigger red waves on my period. I'd say it was more of a red spotting.

There's plenty of vote outstanding across the country, and it will get tighter as things move along. But it's clear at this point that Republicans will win the popular vote. The doomsday predictions coming out right now are about as bad as the "red wave" narratives pre-election. There just aren't a lot of competitive house seats. Candidate selection (look at the tight race that Boebert is running) was atrocious. I don't see any indication that this was some big referendum on abortion. A large chunk of it was bad candidates (blame lies with Trump) and infighting (blame lies with the McConnell wing).

Yes, almost as if they don't represent there constituents.
And if they don't represent them, then who do they?

Days later and tons of votes remain uncounted.

This WashingtonCompost article explains why this is good and normal:

If only the incompetent election system benefited Republicans. Then maybe we'd get bipartisan support to fixing them for future elections.
