See again though, just by keeping it you think you might need it. I walk outside in the streets and never for a second think I should have a gun on me.

Glad i don't live in such a shithole!

There is evil everyone on this planet. I for one am just glad I live in a country where I have the ability to protect myself from said evil if it ever comes knocking.

The obvious reality is that people with a firearm on their hip are more likely to use it as a result (no surprise, cant use it if you don't have it), but what this means is they're likely to use it in altercations that never required that type of escalation and you have morons brandishing weapons when its completely uncalled-for further escalating issues.

I have no issues with someone keeping a short shotgun in their home. If someones coming in unannounced into your home, well it is what it is. You get into a fender bender and emotions run hot and suddenly you pull a handgun out of the glove box, that's completely overblown.

Humans are not rational thinkers, especially in situations that result in a person becoming emotional, even in accidental situations.

I just got a muskox tag not long ago, its just such a bitch to quarter one up at -40C in the breeze. Maybe ill try this weekend.

Plus a bull is like 900 pounds if you ethically take an older one thats passed on its genes already.

wish i could hunt big game, largest animal ive ever shot is a whitetail deer. bear, ox, moose, elk, etc all sound fun as hell.

Makes it easier to blow a few hundred dollars of ammo very quickly. I wouldn’t say more fun but definitely more satisfying hitting a target at 400+ yards with a bolt.

if im burning ammo its at a skeet range, never been a rifle range guy myself. if i really want to shoot a lot its 75 yards with a .22 for me. my main gun for hunting is a 300winmag, so blowing 100$ of ammo doesnt take long. and its the only high caliber rifle ammo i have horded. ive got 30-06, 270, 243, etc but not enough to blow and not enough supply to replace.

Its a lot of meat. Like 50-60% of meat to carcass weight ratio.

Its over 2 bucks a round for .30-06, closer to 3 bucks now. I hate having to resight things after smashing it on the ATV all summer long and burning through unnecessary shots.

Are those the right ones for 30-06? 45 cents a bullet there. Probably reload for half the cost.

I just got a Henry rifle that shoots .44 mag, sighted to 100 yards. I am dying to find something big enough to shoot with it. Recently got a Browning x bolt chambered in that fancy new 6.5 creedmoor. I haven’t even had time to put a scope on it but they say this is one of the most accurate long range rounds in existence. One of these months I am going to get a good three four weeks off and I’ll be able to play a little bit. I fill my feeders and check my trail cams all the time. I haven’t even had time to even cull the axis deer.

This is all just inherently wrong. In most criminal cases involving a gun, said gun is owned illegally. Brandishing a firearm is illegal already so go ahead and toss that out of your argument.

We're not talking about what legal and not legal when it comes to the actual use. If its legal to carry one, you're more likely to use it in situations that don't call for it. That's fairly straight forward. Watch any dumb road rage compilation on Reddit and you see idiots pulling out a gun from an accident. Yes it was legal to carry the firearm, what proceeded wasen't and it only happened because they had it on them. Like I said its well documented humans are not rational thinkers, we are ruled by emotion.

I live in a place that has no roads connecting to the rest Canada so all goods are flown in. Ammunition is considered dangerous goods and as a result there's a large dangerous goods charge on them which results in the price we pay.

shit double posted, supposed to be added to the post above...
