Not necessarily. There are plenty of historical examples of that not being the case. MLK, Ghandi, etc.

The difference between the Boston tea party and this is there was an overwhelming majority supporting that protest against an external force. If you were to do a poll on who supports blocking highways/bridges for protests today, I would put money that the general populace of that country/city would be overwhelmingly against it.

You need to do some research. MLKs protests were covered almost word for word the way BLM protests were. MLk died with a 75% disapproval rating.

You certainly can blame them when the traffic jam was their explicit intention and carried a reasonably foreseeable deadly risk to the general public.

Kinda like blaming Trump for Jan 6... Surely these are different circumstances. Like the protestors we're driving the cars.

The story should have ended at pink haired gross hippies throw soup on protective glass.

Nah. If I get into an accident and cause a traffic jam I can't be charged with accidental manslaughter.

I brought up Ghandi and MLK as example that you don't necessarily have to always be disruptive to affect change. The most powerful drivers of change are ideas. Most people remember him for his I have a dream speech.

The approval point was in context to the founding fathers point, which tbh was a pretty shit one.

Simple solution, don't stop your car for protests.
They will learn not to stand on a highway soon enough.

MLK and Ghandi were massively unpopular and disruptive. MLK has been massively whitewashed.

Like the FBI recordings of Martin Luther King Jr watching and laughing as a pastor raped a woman?
Also, him having 40 extramarital affairs.

Whitewashed indeed.

Honestly the soup can thing is like a perfect protest.

It didn't damage the painting, was disruptive, and got lots of attention brought to the cause.
