I literally work in Oncology research. There is nothing a YouTube video can teach me. Oh and he's not a doctor. He's a chiropractor, which is not an evidence based branch of medicine.
Okay so watched it and all I can say is yikes.
Not all cancers are warberg like.
Cancers are not caused by mitochondrial damage. That's actually the easiest way to trigger apoptosis and stop a cell from proliferating.
Human cells do not do fermentation, we do anaerobic respiration to make lactic acid.
Your body keeps blood sugar circulating or you die. It is literally impossible to starve a cancer of sugar.
Ketone are primarily emergency energy and not used to build membranes. Cancer cells also use fatty acids to build membranes.
This guy is very very misinformed and that's not surprising since, again, he's not from a profession that values evidence.
I don't have the time to watch that video, therefore I'll believe your summary. What I know from my brother told me (he is a doctor), you can't 100% prevent cancer because there are too many factors but there are some common denominators:
1. Food (the less processed the better).
2. Obesity, he said at a certain point the body itself is constantly inflammated. Local inflammation is one of the main reasons for cancer cells to be born. The worst part seems to subconscious belly fat.
3. You need some kind of sports or movement to make the body get rid of excessive tissue. Cardiovascular activity seems to be the best fit. Again, overweight immobile people tend to carry more of that useless tissue which can develop into cancer.
4. Genetical component, if you're unlucky you could get cancer while being healthy, fit and eating proper meals.
1-3 are directly related to sugar consumption. Processed food has always got sugar. Obese people keep themselves obese by dinking liquids with huge amounts of sugar (eating and digesting that amount of calories per day isn't as easy as drinking). And about 3, you can never outrun unhealthy diet. So basically, the only thing you can really control has got a lot to do with overall sugar consumption which you can and should reduce as much as possible.
