Divisive, sure. However, it's factually correct from a Japanese perspective. "Arch-conservative" is not in anyway. Republicans would trip over themselves trying to be called that.

That's a pathological consequence of America's dysfunctional voting system where the vast majority of seats are completely uncompetitive in the general election, so that the only thing a ton of incumbents have to fear is the primary where ideological radicalism is a boon, rather than a hindrance. At face value, the term "arch-[insert ideological affiliation here]" indicates that a politician has fringe views and is out of step with public opinion.

There is no doubt that they were behind it in some way. It's just a question of how many layers deep we need to go. China and their supporters are some of the most despicable people in human history. Congress should act IMMEDIATELY to recognize Taiwan as a sovereign nation and push to have them replace China (a.k.a. West Taiwan) on the UN Security Council.


I want to see it so bad. I want to see how it turns out between the USA and China.
I also want to see if Congress have the balls to recognize Taiwan as a sovereign nation.

But if no action is taken, it is all talk..... which means nothing..

The big question is if the US and its allies would really have the military capability to prevent a Chinese invasion of Taiwan with conventional weapons. Having to rely on nuclear deterrence is a precarious position.
In the long run, the geographic proximity of Taiwan to China means the island cannot be defended as China arms up more and more. It would be prudent for the West to build semiconductor foundries of their own. The world's dependence on the foundries in Taiwan is a huge geostrategic vulnerability that the Chinese will exploit sooner or later.

But I don't understand why that dude was an ex officer of the Japanese Self Defense Force ( left JDF ).
If So maybe the Japanese government must check how they employ people in the military.
