the issue is simple, schools cant teach the entirety of common core in a school year in many instances. they simply dont have enough time in the year. so it clearly needs revision. a national standard isn't a bad concept, but it also shouldn't be 125% of the time they have, nor 95% of the time. it stifles creativity. and the resources arent provided for lesson planning to teach common core, its a list of items teachers must figure out how to teach. its as good of a first step towards teaching reform as ACA was for healthcare reform.
I beg to differ. The change needs to come elsewhere. School reflects our values. If I were to argue this, I'd say those are the ones that need to change
