the issue is simple, schools cant teach the entirety of common core in a school year in many instances. they simply dont have enough time in the year. so it clearly needs revision. a national standard isn't a bad concept, but it also shouldn't be 125% of the time they have, nor 95% of the time. it stifles creativity. and the resources arent provided for lesson planning to teach common core, its a list of items teachers must figure out how to teach. its as good of a first step towards teaching reform as ACA was for healthcare reform.

Solution is to get rid of summer vacations. It's wasted time.

I beg to differ. The change needs to come elsewhere. School reflects our values. If I were to argue this, I'd say those are the ones that need to change

cut the arm of america so we can avoid stiches and get a band aid and then infection. incremental reform is the only chance we have.

Incremental reform has been the path we've taken for the past 60 years, and has fundamentally failed.

You had your chance. Time for real change.

Biology, which includes sex, is part of science. It sounds like you're mad they're being educated about things you don't want them to learn.

Sounds like you're mad you can't talk to little kids about gay sex.

Weird.

Weird that people on the right can only think about gay sex when talking about the existence and humanity of LGBTQ people. Says more about you than it says about anyone else.

gross oversimplification. its been wildly successful in many areas and wildly unsuccessful in many others.

can you imagine drastic swift change on racial reform in the 1860s or 1960s? we'd have seen an increase in lynchings by an order of magnitude. perhaps many orders.
