Disney public stance is a veiled threat at campaign contributions. Hopefully everyone understands this. Fact of the matter is governments represent the people. The people of Florida are clearly against k-3 kids being taught this. Disney should literally have zero say in this and if they want to be bold and push a political side then they should be prepared for some sort of retribution.

Link underline with bold and tell me it's about "the people" and not "the person".

Seriously how did you find the mental gymnastics coach that's good enough to teach you legal bribery of an individual helps the citizens.......

even more hilarious:

https://www.wunc.org/2022-04-22/desantis-wanted-to-punish-disney-repealing-its-tax-status-may-hurt-taxpayers-instead

"Disney was in charge of ambulance services and fire services," reports WMFE's Prieur. "So if someone has a heart attack or a car accident, now it's up to the county to figure out how to handle that — and how to foot the bill.

Jesus all this is complicated but seems that if one want to play the administrative card, the other can too.

Not sure where you got lost, Desantis, a conservative, was elected by the people of the State of Florida. He is now representing those same peoples will be creating laws that will protect kids from being taught trash at such a young age. What exactly are you confused about?

"Disney public stance is a veiled threat at campaign contributions"

He did it because disney wasn't going to give him money anymore. Then you say it's about the citizens. READ YOUR OWN WORDS.

Doesn't matter if Disney flat out said they were changing their campaign contributions. That's protected speech and the government isn't allowed to single out somebody for that.

This is the world you and other conservatives fought for. Unlimited corporate rights.

He did it because it was the will of the people and Disney isn't going to give him money because they are trying to apply pressure on politicians to basically ignore the people and instead do what's PC and mainstream. That's the correct sequence, again i'm not really sure where you are struggling with the understanding.

Corporations threatening politicians to do the 'right thing' isn't free speech. It's legit telling politicians, do this or we will fund your opposition. Literally the opposite of democracy.

Then take it up with SCOTUS. Because Citizens United v FEC literally protected that right.

Its really weird to me how these idiots think they can do anything to one of the richest companies on the planet financially.

Perhaps if this move was made in the 1960s, and not today, it would have made some sort of impact. But for some incredibly stupid reason, we have a bunch of people that understand next to nothing that think a couple taxes are going to cripple, again, one of the richest companies on the planet.
