lack of affordable healthcare, cheap (because highly subsidised) unhealthy diet options, high stress work environments, extreme politicisation of common sense public health measures like vaccinations... all of those would be significantly smaller issues in a healthy, multi-party democracy, in which politicians are actually somewhat accountable, and could realistically lose their mandates if they did a terrible job.
The UK and Australia with their first-past-the-post voting system (in which most MPs don't have to lose reelection to opponents) saw significantly lower polarization surrounding vaccines than countries with proportional representation like Germany, Italy or France, or the fellow Commonwealth country Canada.
