Trump raped 17 women, trump is a Russian spy, Trump won the election because of kompromat, trump will start ww3, trump is keeping kids in cages, trump is trying to steal the election by insurrection and on and on. After awhile most Americans just roll their eyes and see the smear campaigns for what they are. The same people that peddled that earlier political partisan bullshit are the same people that are trying to push for a maximalist view on what happened on the 6th, so no ty, i'll remain skeptical.
Apparently, the intelligence agencies of our country were pissed off in 2020 because over the pandemic they found that ~30% of the population is immune to propaganda and will question anything they are told. They also couldn't figure out any repeatable way to distinguish these individuals from others, although trauma seemed to be disproportionate in the group. Hence the red herring media cycle about mass formation psychosis to try and discredit the trend.
A large proportion of the population actually are sheep in the sense that they don't ask questions. Maybe the only way a civilization can function is with a majority group like that - one that is unquestioning and go-along to get-along. Maybe fake news in inevitable from a species standpoint once governments happen.
The real part that pisses me off is why Republicans can't just get better at propaganda so that they can go toe to toe with these fake character assassination headlines. Republicans can't seem to make any insults that stick, even if they are true.
