"We" didn't, maybe the lizard people you support did. I really can't wait until you're part of a group that can be legally oppressed

Russia only has a seat at the table on the global stage as they inherited the USSR's mantle and nuclear weapons. They're a third-world backwater with nukes.

You could say the same about France and the U.K.

Russia is still a big regional power; they probably have the third most powerful military, and their economy is still slightly richer per capita than the other developing powerhouses. We're just learning that the reach of "great" powers is a lot shorter than we previously thought.

Yeah totally not a superpower, right?

I'm really not sure what you're trying to say here. Do we consider North Korea a superpower now?

Pretty sure after Ukraine you can't say Russia has the third most powerful military in the world.

Even France could take Russia I think. IMO, we should force regime change on Russia, remove their nukes, and rebuild them like we did to Germany and Japan. In time, they will love us and be a strong ally and we can use them to pressure China.

France's military resources were exhausted fighting as a side piece to Obama's invasion of Libya, something so insignificant it can't truly be called a war. I'm not so sure we want to put our money on the French.

India? Saudi Arabia? There's not a whole lot to choose from. I suppose the UK and ROK would give Russia a run for its money, but at this point they just aren't used to operating independent of the United States.

Seems like any modernized military would stomp the shot out of Russia. They're using unsecured radio and consumer gps for their invasion of Ukraine which really says a lot about their efforts for post-soviet modernization

Depends on the playing field. Russia has a massive rail network that lets them operate effectively inside their country and not at all outside
