More police reports, investigations, and paperwork on a thinned and strained force will only cause more needless shootings and accidental discharges at civilians. Which will cause a loop until it gives in.
And this is why we have voting. Vote out the ones not doing what you like. If they don't do their jobs, flood their office with calls, letters, emails, etc. Pressure your reps.
It's not hard. People are lazy.
I've sent countless emails and letters. Idk if it's working because I don't have these problems where I live.
The beautiful vent box always gets the job done. You don't know if its working because when you contact your representative, if you get a response back, its a copy/paste template from an underling staffer. You don't know if its working when you go to local city meetings and get a 1-way opportunity to vent on a podium for 2 minutes to people who are professional day-dreamers. You don't know if its working when you appeal wrongful citation due to being a victim of a felon and are told 'too bad the law says you are liable...'. You don't know if its working when homelessness is rampant during an economic crisis yet corporations are first to be bailed out. You don't know if its working when arsonists and looters run rampant among your community while leaders call protectors to stand down.
The civilized tools citizens are supposed to use such as their voice and vote has been marginalized, so its only natural people will leverage other tools if it achieves the goal. It is the citizens job to ensure proper people are in office, and the representatives job to craft/recraft the system to work effectively for ALL citizens. We have had decades of representatives crafting the system to work for them and their corporate buddies. Money is speech, and corporations are people right? The representatives have setup the playing field, now they must recraft it before citizens start using more of their other toolsets.
