Read that in a book or just parroting recycled thoughts? Masculinity has nothing to do how tough/dangerous your job is this is such a feudal age type of thinking its beyond cringe.
Masculinity is about being confident taking action and following through, bring food on the table, don't be a subservient cuck, protective instincts standing up for loved ones etc. It changes with every generation slightly due to social programming but the core remains the same.
