Ten thousand troops or whatever they've stationed on the border is not nearly enough for an invasion. Furthermore, Kiev themselves do not believe an invasion is imminent - and have actually criticized Biden for withdrawing diplomatic personnel from Ukraine, stating that they would be "safer in Kiev than in crime-riddled LA."

In any event, an invasion is not needed to destroy Ukraine's military. All it would take is a sustained barrage of missile strikes and it would all be over in a week. The shattered Ukraine, though not under threat of an actual invasion, would nevertheless be left on their own to wipe off their shame and humiliation. Thus, I don't believe they will attack Donbass if they value their lives. But then again, Stepan Bandera-worshipping wanna-be Nazis aren't exactly reasonable folks, so anything is possible.

I truly cannot believe how easily so many people are duped by the warmongering, fearmongering, lying mass media. The chance of Russia invading Ukraine is about the same as Martians invading Earth. It simply won't happen.

Imagine being a Crimean. Imagine watching your own people be murdered by a questionable regime which took power in an illegal coup. Imagine knowing what will happen if they are allowed to control your territory, with the modern incarnation of Nazi's patrolling their streets who will be given free reign to rape, murder and pillage as they please, as they have done in other areas of Eastern Ukraine.

Thus, it's really not unreasonable that 90% or so would vote to re-join.

Of-course, calling the vote rigged is the immediate go-to for westerners that are uneducated about the Ukrainian conflict. It's also an untrue cop-out.

Ah yes, the same media which has totally ignored the fact that the Ukrainian army massacred more than 50,000 people in the Eastern part of the nation after launching a war on their own nation's citizens, directly after an illegal coup, also conducted by them and with Washington's help.

The same media which ignored the massacre in Odessa, where some 50+ pro-Russian protestors were trapped and burned alive by far-right Ukrainian militants in May of 2014. I doubt you've ever even heard of the Odessa massacre. Gee, I wonder why?

"Many Crimeans loyal to Kiev" does not mean a majority. This could be any number, something as small as a few dozen or a few hundred. But of course they get more coverage than the fact that the Ukrainian "volunteer" militias are a bunch of Nazi-worshipping murderers that destroyed entire villages and towns with indiscriminate bombardment, wiping out entire families of innocent people in the process.

Crimea was already a pro-Russian area before the war. After the civil war started going, it became pro-Russian to the extreme. It was either that or be butchered by the DC-backed maniacs that took over Kiev. Not exactly a hard choice to make, but I guess since most westerners lack the ability to imagine or conceive *what that actually is like*, since they're so spoiled and can't ever imagine something like that happening to them, it's impossible for them to accept it as being true... even though it is.
