I've seen bans for linking to sources when a mod demands a citation for a comment, without any barb or jibe. He added in that because I "doubled down on hateful conspiracy theories" it would be a permaban. Heck, I had a mod ban me for linking a webm because he thought it was some virus file format extension when he couldn't open it on his ipad. I had one ban me for linking a wikipedia article. Its the internet, moderators from sites with no real stakes, unlike JSP and its FG culture, are just banning people on whims for no reason at all. That's real news to anyone who just woke up from a coma that started in the 90s, because internet moderators have always been that way. Just make another account lmao
I was mainly making a point regarding how sensitive & snowflakey the /r/conservative mods are. There are tons of lefty places that will ban you for petty shit that disagrees with them, but I find that they are typically pretty open about it being a place for only leftist view points. When you get to smaller and smaller communities yeah the whim of a particular power tripping mods banning people for petty disagreements no know political bounds and has been a thing since the usenet days. I will give it libertarians communities as typically being amongst the best for allowing discussion without being ban hammered for stupid shit
