I never said abolishment....

You're not able to defend yourself in this debate so you resort this kind of shitposts, GTFO man

Really easy to find examples. Just search "police social workers" on google. Plenty of cities have already implemented policies where social workers respond where police aren't needed. Basic things like domestic disputes, mental health issues, etc. have no reason to send an armed person to the scene. Believe it or not, most police go whole years without having a gun pulled on them.

I think there is cases where you are right we need more cops.
A bigger problem is we need more penalties for real crimes. Not 8 months of drug court for weed.. Violent people need to pay consequences. Drug addicts need counseling, clearly jail is not solving drug use.
I think there are cities that don't allocate policing well. IE chick that just go convicted.. can't tell the difference between a tazer and a gun. ** because of poor training and she had never used before.
and ALSO plenty of times cops get sent to dumb shit situations that social workers can handle BETTER.

I agree with that :)

Weed is not the problem compared to certain other drugs. If there are less addicts --> less crime --> less cops needed on the streets

Oh look, it's feelings instead of acknowledging I gave you exactly what you wanted.

We're at the point that more cops in most places isn't going to solve the problem. Transitioning to other experts responding to calls is going to yield much better results.

Maybe that means adding social workers then slowly reducing cops instead of a full cop pulldown before your social workers are online. Who knows. We've been so cop heavy its gonna be hard to transition.

But one thing is clear. When you give local officials the incentive to hire social workers and health professionals instead of cops you get massive improvements both for the cops and the community at large, and solutions will need to be locally tailored to the specific problem. We aren't going to have a one size fits all for the whole country.

Other than the drug use itself, how many addicts are actually out committing other crimes? Not every junkie is a thief, or violent, etc .

the same people blaming black culture flaws on fatherless homes want cops to be all over the place arresting black fathers, and want the magical powers of capitalism to bring jobs into places of high crime to employ the fathers then behind bars.

things like transition and budgetary adjustments in resource allocation are 5 levels too high of calculus for Neanderthals who get opinions from facebook memes.

If junkies wouldn't be a burden on society / committing crime there wouldn't be a problem.

Black fathers that didn't drop out of school / didn't become career criminals are doing just fine snipa, sad thing is that you know it. Accusing me of getting my opinions from facebook doesn't mean shit the truth is I shit on any and all so called "social media" and never even used those platforms.
