Opiates are the result of having far more lax laws on drug advertising and doctor incentives. You can basically pay doctors as long as you disclose it.

I'm a 45 year old American male. I have a 65k a year job also get a 10k bonus each year. I am going to be leaving this because the people I'm in charge of now are lunatics. I feel as though I need to dye my hair green and put a barrette in it. The people in there 20s have no marbles to lose. I think over the next 5 years the work place won't have much leadership and it will become robotic. I think possibly the schools have helped make this situation and social media. We don't have strong workers. We have confused sad people that can't get out of their own way. All while the Boomer generation sits at home screaming into the void on Facebook. And they treat covid as their own personal holocaust and won't shut up about it.

I have a lot of young people working for me, cycling through as the schools open and close, some stuck around. Either way I get a lot of great kids but a lot of whack jobs with zero sense of what it means to work.

I have noticed that almost every kid who comes through my store under the age of 18, whether male or female is generally a fantastic employee. I am sure if you are the type to find a job while you are still in earlier years of high school then naturally you are going to do better, but I like to think there is still hope for a new wave of normal people.
